e-Learning Center

Technical Requirements

The IAAM CoreTracks and other e-Learning programs are designed to play in most home and business settings without any special software other than an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer.

Most courses do require a high speed Internet connection, such as cable modem, DSL or corporate high speed line. IAAM members who do not have access to high speed Internet can order courses on CD.

Most courses include sound, so your computer should have speakers and you may need to adjust the volume control.

The CoreTracks courses require Flash Player, which is a free plugin to your Internet browser and is likely already installed. This plug-in can be downloaded at www.adobe.com

Most courses launch in a chromeless browser window. To ensure that the course views properly, please make sure popup blockers are turned off

Most courses are optimized for monitors set at 1024 x 768 pixels. If portions of a course window are not viewable, you might change your graphics setting from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768.

Some course content, such as Rigging Safety and the VISAT Orientation, are created using PowerPoint and consist of many files, some which are fairly large. Be patient when you click a course to begin. Allow at least two minutes for downloads to complete.

CoreTracks courses consist of a series of short "movies." Move to the next movie by clicking the NEXT button at the bottom right of each window.
